Somerset Medical Center Foundation is a non-profit organization that solicits and administers funds on behalf of
Somerset Medical Center, in Somerville, New Jersey.
Somerset Medical Center is a 355-bed acute care hospital in Somerville, providing
comprehensive health care services to residents throughout Central New Jersey.
The medical center’s Steeplechase Cancer Center is designated as a
Comprehensive Community Cancer Center by the American College of Surgeons’
Commission on Cancer – a distinction achieved by only one in four hospitals
nationwide that treat cancer patients. The cancer center, named in honor of the
Far Hills Race Meeting Association, features the Sanofi-aventis U.S. Breast Care
Program, radiation oncology, infusion therapy, clinical trials, complementary
medicine services and the Sanofi-aventis U.S. Wellness Boutique.
The Joint Surgery Institute at Somerset Medical Center has been honored with the
HealthGrades 2011 Joint Replacement Excellence Award, ranking in the top 10
percent of hospitals nationwide. The medical center is also designated as a
Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission and the New Jersey Department
of Health and Senior Services.
In addition, Somerset Medical Center is distinguished as having one of the largest,
most advanced emergency departments in New Jersey; one of the most experienced
cardiology programs in the state; and one of the largest sleep disorders
centers in the Northeast.
